The Many Ways to Enjoy The French Gourmet

Dining in San Diego has long been representative of the many cultures present in this large, metropolitan city. In this spirit of diverse dining, we present to you The French Gourmet: a restaurant that strives to bring its diners only the most authentic of French dining experiences. With almost thirty years experience serving catering clients as well as restaurant diners, The French Gourmet is definitely doing things right.

The French Gourmet, located in Pacific Beach, opens at 8:00 am seven days a week and offers customers breakfast and lunch daily with dinner served only five days a week. The diverse breakfast menu includes gourmet items such as Duck Confit Benedict or Scrambled Eggs and Ratatouille. There is also a French Toast and Crepes section where morning customers can satisfy their sweet tooth with options like Strawberry or Apple Crepes. This menu is served from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. The lunch menu, which is also available until 3:00 pm, includes entrée options of Grilled Salmon, Moules Marineres, and Filet Mignon. Each entree comes with soup or salad and the choice of a side, all adding up to one generous lunch, which is after all the French way. Patrons in the mood for a smaller lunch will appreciate the house specialties, panini plates, and salads that are also available for lunch.

Although The French Gourmet is closed for dinner on Sundays and Mondays, it makes up for it in a very big way Tuesdays through Saturdays. Starting at 4:00 pm, diners have the choice of two menus: either the A La Carte Dinner Menu, or the $25 Three-Course Prix Fixe Menu. The former features a long list of different hors d’oeuvres, and an even longer list of entrée options, which include meats such as poultry, beef, seafood, and even pork and lamb. Vegetarians need not fear, as there are also three delicious vegetarian options available. If the thought of so many options is overwhelming, indecisive diners can instead go with the prix fixe dinner which has fewer options that still promise to delight the taste buds. There is still a variety of meats on this menu, as well as a few vegetarian options.

The French Gourmet Restaurant not only offers diners a place to enjoy an authentic French meal, but it also serves as a French bakery, serving up fresh gourmet pastries daily as well as taking orders for personalized wedding cakes. Their wares are made from scratch—and their long list includes favorites such as Strawberry Tarts, Black Forest Cake, Eclairs, and Tiramisu. If you’re searching for the perfect cake for a special event, The French Gourmet is happy to help plan out your dream cake. This restaurant can provide your special event with more than just dessert, as it also functions as a catering business, which has been running since 1979. Whether it’s a holiday celebration, corporate event, or even a wedding reception, The French Gourmet will help make it unforgettable.

With so many ways to enjoy this restaurant, bakery, and catering veteran, there is no excuse to miss out.
