Feel fortunate, Philly. Union Trust Steakhouse, Philadelphia Magazine’s “Best New Steakhouse” for 2009, is embarking on a new monthly themed tasting series, the Union Trust Tasting Series. The series debuts on September 29th at 7 p.m. and will feature Executive Pastry Chef Christina Diekewicz’s 5-course dessert prix fixe with a wine or beer pairing selected by sommelier Xavier Mariezcurrena. This isn’t a conventional prix fixe and these aren’t conventional desserts: Braised Short Ribs with Valrhona Molé and Roasted Pear Soup are two examples of the unique dishes featured on Diekewicz’s menu. The series will continue on October 20th with Vertical Steak Tasting and on November 10th with an Oyster Menu. Reservations are required.
