Shmoozers Dairy Restaurant

Located in the college area, this restaurant offers a wide array of meat-free Italian, Mexican, and American dishes. Pizzas are served by the slice or 16” pie and include three-cheese, white, and vegan, the latter being 100% non-dairy. Mexican entrees dominate the menu, with options such as nachos, fish tacos, bean and cheese burrito, or tacos prepared with imitation meat. Falafel, broiled salmon salad, and veggie burgers round out the eclectic menu. Prices range from $3 to $9 for entrees and $15 to $19 for 16” pizza pies. Owner Charles Rubin also runs a separate catering operation that offers kosher catering for events such as weddings, birthdays, and bat/bar mitzvahs. These neighboring restaurants separately cater to meat and dairy kosher needs. The Place is a market and meat restaurant, with a menu that offers both Israeli and American dishes including sandwiches and hearty meals. Platters are as diverse as kufta kabob, half rotisserie chicken, or lamb chops, all served with a side salad, pita, and either rice and beans or fries. The Dairy Place is a dairy restaurant, sushi bar, and cappuccinio and espresso bar. The menu includes pizzas, pasta, and seafood, as well as select Mexican dishes and a selection of sushi rolls. A kosher market is located inside The Place and a kosher wine store is offered at the Dairy Place. The Place prices range from $4.95-$6.96 for sandwiches; 9.95-$24.95 for platters. The Dairy Place entree prices range from $5.95 to $16.95. Tuesday and Wednesday evenings the Dairy Place offers an all-you-can-eat buffet for $9.95. Orly’s Café and Bakery is a meat-free bakery and café offering a casual setting for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as an assortment of takeaway pastries, cakes, and breads. Breakfast fare includes waffles, French toast, and omlettes, as well as comfort food favorites like potato latkes and bagels with lox.
